BELMONT (Jan. 10, 2024) – North America Business Awards has designated Hoaglandscape as Charlotte’s Landscaping Contractor of the Year for 2023.
The New World Report organization annually recognizes businesses that yield outstanding products and services throughout North America.
For 22 years, Hoaglandscape has delivered exceptional landscaping services across the Charlotte region. Driven by a simple ethos – to make the world a more beautiful place one job at a time – owner Brian Hoagland has grown the company into one of the area’s best landscaping and water feature companies.
Charlotte is a region of extraordinary growth, driven by significant investment and population growth. It’s a great source for a business aiming to meet the demands of a growing populace. For Hoagland, the key to enduring success lies in keeping things simple and perfecting the basics.
“We like to provide our clients with excellent customer service and low maintenance, distinctive designs,” Hoagland said. “Unlike most of our competitors, Hoaglandscape provides turn-key services that allow us to do both water features and the accompanying landscape that is needed to complete a project with amazing results. That usually means our clients are just working with just one contractor on a multi-faceted project.”
Hoagland strives for his company and its employees to remain “best in class” through a commitment to continual professional development and training – both in-house and external. This is all part of the company’s growth, with a culture that is focused on creating a fun and productive working environment.
“We train all our employees to provide timely, courteous service that ensures our clients are comfortable during the entire design and construction process,” Hoagland said. “At the same time, we like our employees to enjoy their job. Having fun while working hard is encouraged because we know this helps with teamwork and camaraderie.”
Hoaglandscape holds a North Carolina Landscape Contractor License and is required to complete seven hours of continuing education classes and tests to retain the designation. Hoaglandscape is also a Master Certified Aquascape Contractor, one of less than 300 in the United States. Hoagland, and often his employees, attend an annual training event known as “Pondemonium” at Aquascape, Inc.’s headquarters in St. Charles, Ill. Aquascape is North America’s leading pond equipment manufacturer.
“This continuing education allows us to stay on top of new technologies and techniques,” Hoagland said.
Hoaglandscape thrives in a challenging market – even considering Charlotte’s relative regional economic success.
“It’s a challenging market, so we’ve ramped up our marketing to ensure we maintain our competitive spot within the market,” Hoagland said. “Currently, our YouTube Channel is a driving force for business. Of course, we use several social media platforms to market our skills, but it’s more important to release educational content that helps our clients. We have also recently upgraded our website.”
Hoagland looks for an extraordinary period of growth in the year ahead.
“The Charlotte region just keeps on growing and that gives us more and more potential clients,” Hoagland said. “Recreational and swim ponds are a growing trend and I believe they will continue to be in 2024. Those prospective clients need to know that landscaping is the No. 1 thing you can add to your home to increase its value. Smart people invest in smart things.”
